Laptop and software information and purchase

Professional phase PA students have a (PC) laptop computer with wireless compatibility. It is recommended that the student computers have 8 GB of memory or more, a 256 GB or higher hard drive, and Windows 10. Your laptop must be compatible with our wireless network for internet service. The King’s College wireless network will provide service to end-users that are 802.11 n/ac compliant, which roughly covers devices built after 2014.

It is strongly recommended that students wishing to use an Apple/Mac laptop must install Windows 10 or higher and Microsoft Office*. This can be done by partitioning the hard drive and installing the PC software on the separate partition using Apple’s Bootcamp utility. If you have questions or difficulties with this you may call the King’s Help Desk at (570) 208-5900 ext. 4357 or email help@kings.edu.

*As a member of the King’s Community, you have access to download Microsoft Office at no charge using your King’s email login and password. For the link to download the software and for more information, visit http://mykings.edu and click the Office365 Info link.

King's College offers educational discounts on laptops. If you wish to take advantage these offers, access the Computer Purchase Program link on the http://my.kings.edu website. All suggested models meet the requirements mentioned above and will be appropriate for use during your physician assistant studies.

If you have any difficulty with purchasing, hardware, software, and internet access while at King’s, contact The Help Desk.
