With the release of Apple iOS 11 today, we wanted to make you aware of an issue just reported by Apple that WILL affect your King’s College e-Mail. The details from Apple are below. At this time, we recommend you NOT apply the update until Apple or Microsoft can address the issues. You will not be able to send e-Mail via your King’s College e-mail account on your Apple device until the issue is resolved. This appears to only affect the default e-mail app on the Apple devices and not the Microsoft Outlook app.
UPDATE 22 Sep 2017 from Microsoft:
If you are using the native mail app on your iPhone or iPad, and upgrade to iOS 11, you may encounter issues. [How does this affect me?]
Due to an incompatibility in the new release of iOS, users of the built-in Apple Mail app in iOS 11 may be unable to sync their Office 365 mailbox or login to their accounts. iOS 9 or 10 users are not affected. [What do I need to do to fix this?]
Microsoft and Apple are working to resolve this issue and will post more information to the article, below, when it becomes available. In the meantime, we recommend you download the free Outlook for iOS client, available in the App Store. Alternatively, you can avoid updating to iOS 11 until the issue has been fixed. If you can‘t send an email with iOS 11 and an Outlook.com or Exchange mail account
You might see an error message that says "Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server."
If your email account is hosted by Microsoft on Outlook.com or Office 365, or an Exchange Server 2016 running on Windows Server 2016, you might see this error message when you try to send an email with iOS 11: "Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server."
Apple is working closely with Microsoft to resolve the issue and will release a fix soon in an upcoming software update.
