September 29, 2017 – Peter Charney of Effort has been named Tutorial Coordinator at King’s College. He will be primarily responsible for maintaining the standards for the College’s Certified Reading and Learning Association certification, recruiting, training and evaluating peer tutors, and providing assistance to students with disabilities and outreach to at-risk students. 

Prior to coming to King’s, Charney previously served as a school based mental health coordinator at The ReDCo Group- Behavioral Health Services, a professional tutor at East Stroudsburg University, and Education Director at Pennsylvania Treatment and Healing-Alternative Education Program. He has taught courses in history, government, and politics for over 10 years as a part-time instructor at Misericordia University.

Charney earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s degree in history, and a master’s degree in professional and secondary education from East Stroudsburg University.
