Wilkes-Barre, Pa.—King’s College today launched a new Master of Arts in Strategic Communications beginning for the Fall 2024 semester. Open to qualified applicants with any four-year undergraduate degree, this completely online 30-credit program can be completed in as little as 21 months. Not only is each credit competitively priced at $750, but students will also have access to eBooks and other online resources that keep additional costs low.

The program is tailored to individuals seeking advancement in marketing, international and domestic business, government relations, nonprofits, fundraising, and other fields that rely on effective communications. Professionals who have a master’s degree in strategic communications often find success in many different roles, including marketing directors for multinational corporations, public information officers for government agencies, and consultants who run their own firms.

“There’s tremendous opportunity for individuals who can connect and mobilize different perspectives from around the world,” said Scott J. Weiland ’96, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Mass Communications. “It’s no surprise that strategic communications professionals are in demand at the highest levels of industry, health care, government, and other sectors. Our program helps students pursue these careers with a flexible and affordable curriculum, which is especially important for those already working in this field.”

The College will also offer a five-year track for incoming undergraduate mass communications students, who can earn an advanced degree with just 12 additional months of study.

The curriculum includes courses on emerging digital media, global perspectives, crisis communications, and other topics. Students will develop leadership skills and learn how to advise senior officials, engage critical internal and external stakeholders, deploy the latest in information technology, and develop solutions that are sensitive to environmental and social issues.
