Office of Multicultural and International Student Programs (MISP) 

WHAT WE DO 

MISP supports and promotes cultural competency throughout campus. We offer multiple opportunities for students to create and coordinate programs that enhance their personal, social, and intellectual development. 

We also provide advisement and special services that nurture wellness, academic success, social opportunities, personal development, and a sense of belonging in students from international and underrepresented communities. 

The MISP office is located in the Campus Activities Suite, Room 103B.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED

Be a presenter or spectator at our MISP Walk Around the World event where students can explore information about other countries and try their food. Check out our cultural events like our annual “It’s Lit” glow-in-the-dark party or our Safe Zone LGBTQ+ awareness training. We also have numerous off-campus diversity awareness conferences and cultural trips to help you discover potential scholarship, leadership, and career opportunities.

Residence Life 

WHAT WE DO 

The Residence Life staff strives to create a sense of community and family atmosphere for all students. We also work to nurture a residence hall experience that complements the institution’s educational mission by encouraging participation in campus activities and offering numerous opportunities to forge rewarding relationships with other students. 

Whether it’s promoting accountability, sponsoring educational resident hall activities, or offering multiple student leadership opportunities, our staff are dedicated to the academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of the students living on campus.

Student Health Services 

WHAT WE DO

Student health is our passion. As the King’s College Student Health team, we’re committed to providing compassionate and holistic care to every student patient. 

For many students, this is the first time that their parent or guardian is not present when they feel sick or overwhelmed. We help students make healthy lifestyle choices while preparing them to be their own health advocate and informed health care patient. 

When students visit the health center, we focus on their medical conditions while also addressing other physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Our services outside of the health center include outreach, consultation, and health focused educational programs, activities, and events. We also guide and track the institution’s overall health requirements to assure a safe environment for all faculty and students. 

The Student Health Services office is located at Andre’ Hall, 72 W. North Street.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED

We offer sick and wellness visits on site, as well as testing for the flu, COVID-19, strep throat, mono and other ailments. We also offer over the counter medications, allergy injections, nebulizer treatments, medical equipment loans, and several other health and wellness education programs. KC Pathways

WHAT WE DO

KC Pathways works to enhance the King’s academic experience by providing the highest level of holistic support to ACT 101, first generation, and international students through advisement, advocacy, immigration services, and various other beneficial programs. 

In addition to working across campus to help students successfully complete their degrees, we also promote diversity and intercultural understanding to enrich the academic and social environment of King’s College.

Academic Skills Center with Disability Services

WHAT WE DO

Our goal is to serve a diverse student population by reducing barriers and responding to unique learning needs with individual attention and a welcoming environment. 

We also provide academic support through peer tutoring, learning strategy workshops, and accommodations and disability services. 

The Academic Skills Center is located in the Mulligan Physical Science Center, Academic Skills Center Room M94.

Campus Ministry

WHAT WE DO

King’s College Campus Ministry provides opportunities for the entire college community to grow in faith together. Rooted in the College’s Catholic identity and the tradition of the Congregation of Holy Cross, we give witness to God’s unconditional love to all through prayer, fellowship, service, and reflection. Campus 

Ministry serves the entire King’s College community and campus ministers are available to provide support and encouragement throughout your college experience.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

All are welcome in Campus Ministry! Get involved by stopping by the office, becoming a Moreau Student Minister, helping at the Chapel of Christ the King, or joining one of our fellowship groups including 

KingsMen, Sisters-in-Faith, Champions for Christ, or Knights of Columbus. In addition to welcoming students of all backgrounds to grow in faith together, we also provide opportunities for prayer and worship on campus and at the Chapel of Christ the King, including mass, confessions, prayer services, retreats, and bible studies. Theatre

WHAT WE DO

The Department of Theatre is a dynamic and intensive program with experienced professors, an active production season, scheduled workshops, guest artists, and special events. 

The curriculum is based on a liberal arts foundation providing core courses in various aspects of the theatrical art, including history and criticism, performance, directing, design, technical production, and theatre education. Students of all walks of academic life participate in theatre courses and production. 

Theatre is more than a major program at King’s College: it’s an essential component of the institution’s overall mission to nurture the skills necessary for personal and professional development. 

The Theatre is located in the Administration Building, George P. Maffei II Theater.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

King’s Theatre is open to all students on campus. We offer major and minors for students to study all aspects of theatre, both onstage and backstage. 

All students are invited to participate in performances and production work. We produce four mainstage shows a year, including a classical Shakespeare piece, a musical, and two additional plays. Come make art with us! 

Campus Safety and Security 

WHAT WE DO 

The Campus Security and Safety Department endeavors to provide a safe campus environment. 

We help students become active participants in the security of their campus. This is done with a motivated staff of men and women 

dedicated to being a positive resource to the campus community. Security Services also updates training guides and works with other King’s departments to meet the needs of an increasingly dynamic student community. 

Campus Safety and Security is located in Alumni Hall Room 107-108.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

In addition to providing a safe environment on campus with 24/7 security presence, we also function as a liaison with law enforcement and provide parking accommodations for students and employees. Campus Safety is located at 108 Alumni Hall and can be reached by calling the switchboard at (570) 208-5900 or 0 from any college extension. 

King’s Army ROTC 

WHAT WE DO 

King’s College offers students the opportunity to participate in Army ROTC through a partnership with the Northeastern Pennsylvania Army Reserve Officer Training Corps Royal Warrior Battalion. 

 
The primary objective of the Reserve Officer Training Program is to develop leadership capabilities in all students and to train future officers for the active Army, US Army Reserve, and Army National Guard. 

The ROTC office is located at 110 N. Franklin St.

Music Office 

WHAT WE DO 

Find a musical home and family through the Music Office! By participating in one of our music ensembles, you can engage the college 

community in a unique way. You’ll get the chance to participate in several events on and off campus, elevating them to a new level with the music you provide.

Any student is welcome to participate in our ensembles. They’re a great way to meet new students and get involved on campus. The friendships made by participating in a music ensemble  will last far after you graduate. 

The Music Office is located in John Lane House, 166 N. Franklin St., 2FL.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

We provide the institution’s musical needs through our music ensembles. 

Cantores Christi Regis performs two concerts each year and sings at various events on and off campus, offering a mix of sacred, secular, classical, and modern pieces. 

Christian Voices provides choral singing and instrumentals for our 8 p.m. Sunday Mass and liturgical celebrations such as memorials, Taizé Prayer, and other services. 

McGowan Hispanic Outreach 

WHAT WE DO 

The Hispanic Outreach Program connects and motivates first generation college students from similar cultural backgrounds to help each other achieve their academic goals. The program also supports a network that forges strong relationships between the local Hispanic community and King’s College. The McGowan Hispanic Outreach office is located in Hafey Marian, 6 FL Room 613.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

We offer educational services to Hispanic students that help them improve their academic success and personal development. This includes assistance outside of the classroom that improves overall student retention and graduation rates. We also encourage and recruit student volunteers in our efforts to provide services to the local community. 

Study Abroad 

WHAT WE DO 

The King’s College Study Abroad Office offers students in all majors the opportunity to study abroad in over 60 countries across six continents. We also bring the world to campus via innovative virtual programs and collaborations. 

At King’s, students mature into global citizens through unique faculty mentoring in short-term programs, semester study abroad, and international research and internships - all while practicing intercultural skills, making new friends, and building resumes.

Athletics 

WHAT WE DO 

King’s College athletic programs encourage students to pursue both academic and athletic success, all while building leadership skills, learning to be an effective teammate, and exercising the principles of good sportsmanship. 

The Scandlon Gymnasium is located at 150 N. Main Street.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

Get involved in the Monarch spirit! Almost a quarter of our students are athletes, so we understand the drive to excel both on and off the field. King’s College offers 28 NCAA Division III programs and competes within the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom, one of the oldest and largest Division III conferences in the nation. DIII student-athletes can focus their time and efforts on achieving academic excellence, as well as continuing to play the sports they love at a higher level. 

Print Shop 

WHAT WE DO

The King’s College Print Shop is a one-stop destination on campus for digital and wide-format printing purposes. Located in the basement of Holy Cross 

Hall, the Print Shop is dedicated to the academic, administrative, and student needs of the college, providing quality products and acute attention to detail for each job submission. 

State-of-the-art technology allows the Print Shop to manage high-speed black and white, full-color, and wide format printing. This includes course materials, flyers, posters, banners, business cards and more. 

The shop also maintains competitive pricing, making quality printing services convenient and accessible to the college community. 

The print shop is located in the Holy Cross Hall basement.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED

Offer quality, low-cost printing services for King’s College students, faculty, staff, and the regional community in a timely manner. Provide recommendations and assistance with printed materials including presentation posters, flyers, business cards, banners and more. Simply place your order with us via email and we’ll notify you when the request is ready to collect. 

IITS (Tech) 

WHAT WE DO 

King’s College IITS is committed to providing students, staff, and faculty IT services that assist students in their academic journey and encourage their professional development. Whether it’s addressing device problems or troubleshooting software issues, we are here to ensure your technology experience remains smooth and hassle-free. 

IITS consists of a blend of professional staff members and our Student Support Services team. Our professional staff members are experienced in various IT specializations, enabling them to provide expert support and guidance to students, staff, and faculty. Our Student Support Services team also includes students who are passionate about technology and are looking to develop their IT skills for their future careers. 

Our IT team is accessible every day of the week, with extended operational hours. 

IITS is located in McGowan Building, 3FL, Room 301.

 
ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

We offer technical support to students, assisting with hardware and software issues, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems related to their devices, accounts, or network connectivity. We also ensure students have reliable network connectivity and Wi-Fi access, free black-and-white printing services, and Barco’s wireless projection technology in classrooms and collective workspaces across campus.

Corgan Library 

WHAT WE DO 

The D. Leonard Corgan Library supports the mission of King’s College by supporting the instructional process and serving as a gateway to global information resources. The library provides a learner-centered environment to meet the curricular and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. 

The library fosters the development of information skills that are critical to independent intellectual inquiry and lifelong learning. It offers books, study spaces, a copier/scanner, computer labs with printers, and friendly staff and faculty. We also offer 24/7 access to thousands of academic articles, journals, magazines, newspapers, and eBooks, along with several online research guides and video tutorials. 

In addition to offering academic and research support, the library offers a range of leisure reading titles, board games, puzzles, 

and movies as well as activities and events throughout the year including a summer reading challenge, Shakespeare birthday party, Easter egg hunt, finals week de-stress table, and more. 

The Corgan Library is located at 14 W. Jackson St., enter via Lanes Lane.

We support student research needs through one-on-one meetings and class instruction sessions. We also offer a variety of group and individual study spaces and provide a welcoming environment for study, research, and collaboration.

Commuter Life 

WHAT WE DO 

We welcome commuters to consider King’s College their home away from home. Ask us about our Commuter Student Resource Guide to learn about parking, inclement weather announcements, health and safety tips, and other important resources available to you while commuting. 

We also provide students with engagement opportunities through the Commuter Life Association and on campus events such as Commuter Pit Stops and Commuters Connect. Find support and connect with fellow commuters and resident students through the Office of Commuter Life in the Sheehy Farmer Campus Center, 1FL Campus Activities Suite, Room 103D.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

We support the specific wants and needs of commuting students, including unique programs and leadership opportunities to connect with various offices and campus resources. We also encourage commuting students to connect with their peers and the King’s College community through on-campus engagement outside of the classroom. 

We want commuters to ask questions, express their opinions and have their ideas heard. 

SMART Program 

WHAT WE DO 

The SMART (Student Mentoring, Achievement, and Resiliency Teams)  program matches first-year and new transfer students with a peer mentor as part of a small group of students who have weekly conversations about adjusting to life at King’s, balancing school and other commitments, attaining mental health and wellness, and more. Each SMART Team is overseen by a faculty or staff mentor as well. 

Campus Activities 

WHAT WE DO 

“Where’s the fun?!” The Office of Campus Activities and Orientation is here for you! 

We help new students transition and adjust to King’s College with summer orientation and fall welcome programs. We also support multiple events and programs outside of the classroom throughout the academic year. Homecoming Block Party, Family and Friends BINGO, Christmas Tree Lighting, Spring Fest, and Commencement Week activities are just some of the events to look forward to as a student. 

Our student leaders are excited to bring the King’s community together for fun and entertaining events. You can join as a participant or sign up to be a member or leader in a club or organization. Our office will help you become part of a great community at King’s. Stop by the first floor of the campus center and visit. Our door is always open!

We offer a wide variety of social events for all students at King’s College. We create programming for our traditional events, including New Student Orientation, Homecoming, Family and Friends Weekend and many 

more! We also develop leaders for King’s Programming Board, Student Government Association, and many clubs and organizations on campus. 

Honors Program 

WHAT WE DO 

The King’s College Honors Program welcomes highly motivated students who are curious about new ideas and inspired by great questions. Our students are serious about self-reflection, energized by dialogue, and passionate in the pursuit of knowledge across a variety of majors, minors, and professional programs. 

As an academic community seeking truth amidst the complex challenges of the modern world, we are committed to respecting different perspectives and being inclusive in all we do.

Benefits of our program include smaller class sizes, supportive peers, and an honors seminar room at Hafey 511. Outside the classroom, our students enjoy the Honors lounge at Hafey 504 for studying or relaxing between classes, study abroad and community service opportunities, 

guest lectures, weekend excursions, and a variety of fun social gatherings. 

Counseling Center 

WHAT WE DO 

Mental health is important to everyone, and sometimes we all need support to maintain it. 

The Counseling Center is staffed by licensed and nationally certified clinicians who are dedicated to helping students thrive and succeed. We provide clinical services in a confidential, accepting, and inclusive environment. Our services help students manage things such as college adjustment, relationship or social difficulties, life stress, and grief, along with anxiety, mood, and eating disorders. 

Since each student’s situation is unique, we use a customized clinical care model to provide services that are the best fit for you. We also help facilitate off campus referrals to our colleagues in the mental health community. 

The Counseling Center runs the HOPE peer educator program. These trained students provide outreach and educational programming on topics relevant to mental health and overall wellness. 

The Counseling Center is located in the Administration Building, 6FL, Room A620.

ACTIVITIES/GET INVOLVED 

We support the mental health needs of our students by providing individual and/or group therapy at no cost to ALL full-time enrolled students. As part of that effort, we uphold a confidential, accepting, and inclusive environment that respects the inherent dignity and worth of all. We also offer educational workshops, programming, and outreach to the larger campus community on issues relevant to mental health and wellness. 

The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) 

WHAT WE DO 

The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) is much more than a program. It’s a quest for challenges and achievements that sets you on a successful path in the Air Force and Space Force, as well as in your lifetime endeavors. AFROTC prepares you to become an officer, leader and a mentor to others while earning a college degree.
